A FRESH NEW START
(Lam 3:22-23) Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
As we come up to a new year we are all eager for a fresh new start. The current year is wearing out and the new year is ready to greet us. It’s a great feeling and I think it is indicative of the fresh new start God wants to bring into our lives. You see, things get old real fast don’t they? We also get bored of the “same old, same old”. But God is so good to give us fresh new mercies when we need them. How can we experience these new mercies from the Lord?
NEW LIFE - (2 Cor 5:17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Are you a believer? If you’re not, then you’re the same old you. Stuck in your sins and stuck with nothing to look forward to but a life and an eternity without God. Give your life to Jesus today and become a new creation in Christ.
NEW FIRE - (Rev 3:16) "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Do you need a fresh new start in your walk with the Lord? Have you been neglectful of stoking the fire in your relationship with God? How does it feel to be lukewarm? Give up your selfish pursuits, repent, and turn your life back over to the Lord. Quit holding on and start moving on. Get a life . . . in Jesus.
NEW DESIRE – (Psa 55:19) . . . Because they do not change, therefore they do not fear God. Is your life routine and dull? Then new challenges are coming your way. It’s the fresh new start you need to get out of the doldrums and into that exciting life in the Lord where you’re on the cutting edge of what God is doing. You’ve gotten stuck in a rut and you want to bust out. You got comfortable for a while, didn’t you? But where did that lead you? Boring! The Christian life was meant to be challenging so get out there and face the fear factor. Stop dreaming and sign up for reality. Get back up there on the tight rope with no net but the promises of God to keep you.
SOOooo . . . the new year is ahead of us along with a fresh new start. Now let’s get out of the locker room and onto the field and see what new mercies from God await us. It’s gonna be great. Go Jesus go!
