THE THRONE OF MY HEART

Updated: May 25, 2022

(Mat 2:2-3) saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." 3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

Herod was having a fit when the wise men were inquiring about the Messiah being born. He couldn’t handle any competition to his throne. The Herods were known to be drunk with power. Often the Herods would kill family members when they ascended the throne so that there would be no threat of conspiracy. It was said that it was safer to be one of Herod’s pigs than to be one of his kin! So when the magi brought up the fact that a star had led them to Jerusalem, Herod freaked and sought to kill all the little children in Bethlehem where it had been prophesied the Coming One would be born.

When you accept Jesus into your life, He becomes Lord of your life. He rules on the throne whereas before self ruled supreme. We have been dethroned and He is reigning in our hearts. We are now His subjects and He rules over all our hopes, dreams, and aspirations. He is King over our ambitions, our will, and our future. He has control of our minds, relationships, business goals, hobbies, entertainment, and you name it. We follow in preference to His leading. Before we were like Herod. We couldn’t handle the competition for the throne of our heart. Not any more! Jesus is the King of our hearts and we have the joy of submission and obedience. When He reigns supreme then our life has that wonderful flow to it because God orders all things aright. It’s a beautiful life when the Lord is in control.

Who is on the throne of your heart? The rest of your life determine to let Jesus reign over your life. Resign your position of command and let Jesus lead. Hallelujah . . . He is Lord!!
