(Acts 1:8) "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
As you read this devotion I will be in the jungle area of south Thailand with my family on a mission trip with missionary Sharon Porterfield. I will be teaching at the Karen Evangelical Bible School, Cheryl will be teaching the young ladies, and our kids will be helping in the kitchen and serving the Lord with other duties.
When we are in Thailand you will be in the concrete jungle of the Los Angeles basin serving the Lord. You will be working hard at your jobs, commuting on the freeway, and dealing with the everyday nuts and bolts and life.
So, who’s the missionary, me or you? We are all to “go” and serve the Lord (Mark 16:15). It’s just where the Lord sends you at the time. Are you a mom at home raising kids? Then you are on “Mission Home”. Are you a student? Then you are on “Mission Campus”. Are you a nine to fiver? Then you are on “Mission Employment”. We are always on assignment with the Lord whether we are at the ends of the earth or the end of our workweek.
May the Lord lead you in your mission this week. And when I get back from Thailand with my family, let’s compare notes and see what the Lord did in our respective areas of service for Jesus Christ!
