LIFE EVALUATION

(Psa 37:25) I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

Some of you have walked with the Lord since you were a child, some of you since a teenager, and some have come later in life. But one thing is for sure . . . you’re in! David knew the Lord his whole life and no matter what he went through, God was there at each stage of life, leading and guiding him in the ways of the Lord.

We all go through different seasons and passages of life. We usually think in terms of baby, child, teen, and adult. Others think in terms of decades of life, especially as you get older and you assess your life at these turning points. But David didn’t get that specific. He just said that he had been young and now was old. And bottom-line is . . . God had been faithful to him throughout his entire life.

When I accepted Jesus my friends thought it was just another teenage fad I was going through. Wrong! By the grace of God have I been able to keep moving forward in the Christian life. There have been lots of ups and downs and lots of highs and lows but the constant has been Jesus as the Rock of my life!

Where are you in life right now? Have you been doing some reevaluating lately? Well, don’t get too philosophical about it because if you know the Lord, it doesn’t have to do with:

· “I’m turning forty”

· “What have I done with my life until now?”

· “Look at that gray in my hair”

· “What does the future hold?”

Dial in on the fact that like David, you see the Lord as the same faithful God from start to finish, and that even at the finish, death is just the doorway to an eternal existence with an incredible God. So lighten up if you’ve been thinking too heavy these days. Just remember that the “water under the bridge” is the perpetual stream of living water in which will never run dry!
