WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE CUSSING

(James 5:12) But above all, my brethren, do not swear . . .

Why do people cuss or curse or swear? Psychologists say it’s because it’s the language of anger. So, I guess we can say people cuss because they fuss. And why do they fuss? Because they don’t know the Lord! Why would you fret or fuss when you know the Lord? God can handle anything so why generate wasted energy? Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it only causes harm. (Psa 37:8)

Ever heard of the cursing farmer? Each day he would swear at his stubborn milk cow. She would give him such a bother at milking time that he would invoke the Lord’s name on her and wish for her damnation. But when he got saved, he asked God to bless her and she became the bounty cow on the farm! Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. (Psa 67:5-6)

Cuss? Fuss? How about . . . Bless?
