THE C.E.O. OF MY LIFE

(Psa 32:8) I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Don’t you wish you could be more organized? We always hold out hope that one day our lives will be all caught up. Then we’ll finally get ahead of things and start enjoying life the way we were meant to. So, we get in that planning and structure mode and start tackling certain areas with a vengeance. And the result? We usually burn out and have to take some time to recoup! Maybe if I acquired a planner? Maybe if my husband spent more time with the kids I could get things done? Maybe if my boss would stop overloading me and I could come home with my bag empty for once? Maybe . . . just maybe . . . ?

Most of us live life with a lot of pressures. It’s just how life is in this crazy world we live in. We take time off and that seems to help but then it’s right back into it. This whole lifestyle can be so aggravating . . . so frustrating . . . so never-ending. Is there any help or will we always have this underlying anxiety about our lives?

Jesus said the Holy Spirit would be given to help us. Listen to these hopeful words: "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever (John 14:16).

I’d like to refer to the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit as the Lord being the C.E.O. (Chief Executive Officer) of my life. You know, that person at the top of the corporation who makes all the decisions and runs everything. You see, we work for Him in this life. He’s the Head of the church and the Lord of our lives (Col. 1:18; Phil 2:11). He will guide our life and every detail of it if we simply trust in Him and go to the Head for everything!

What great news. I don’t have to have it all together all the time. That’s too much pressure. I can turn things over to Him and where He guides, He provides. I’m not in charge! I’m fired!! Feels so good to have Jesus in control!!! I can rise each morning and say, “Let’s roll, Lord!”, and watch what He will do and be satisfied with all I’ll be able to accomplish with Him as the C.E.O. of my life. (Psa 37:5-8)
