NOTHING TOO HARD

(Jer 32:17) 'Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.

Jeremiah had a difficult time believing God would bring Israel back into their land after their long exile in Babylon. But when he lifted his eyes from his circumstances to his God, his perspective changed. If God created the heavens and the earth, couldn’t He do what He has promised for His own?

One day Cheryl and I were at the beach. It was a beautiful day, but it was raining in our hearts. You know how it is, wherever you are, you take yourself with you. And so, on the beach we were still working through some unresolved issues that had arisen in our lives. The more we talked, the larger the problem became. But as we went down to the shoreline, it hit us. We serve an awesome God! If God created this vast sea with all the wonders in it, couldn’t He take care of our situation?

Our problems are big to us but when we think of God’s power and the vastness of His universe, our problems shrink to the size they should be. Then, no matter where you are, God is there, and you can enjoy the day, whether you’re at work, at home, or at the beach. And you know what? Our problem was solved to the point where it took me awhile to remember just what the problem had been. That’s how well God takes care of things.

Brethren, there is nothing too hard for the Lord!
