I AM SAFE

(Deu 33:27) The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms.

When you think of all the crazy things going on in the world, it can make you feel nervous and vulnerable. It used to be just home robberies. Then it was drive-by shootings. Then it was car-jackings and the list of violent acts grew to the proportion it is today. And just when you think it couldn’t get worse, terrorism hits America.

So, what do you do? Do you panic? Develop some phobia? Or at least walk around with an uneasy sense of susceptibility? If you know Jesus . . . none of the above! How so you might ask? Well, because:

GOD IS YOUR REFUGE - When you were scared as a child, what would you do? You would run to your dad or mom for refuge! Observe how children bury themselves in their parents when they are frightened or insecure.

UNDERNEATH ARE THE EVERLASTING ARMS - When you ran to your parents, do you remember what would happen next? Your parents would naturally envelop you with their arms to assure you of their protection and your safety. That’s just what God will do for you. He is your refuge and His arms are big enough to enfold you and shelter you when you feel unprotected in this colossal and chaotic world.

God is in control! And I am safe in His strong arms of love.

Leaning, leaning

Safe and secure from all alarms

Leaning, leaning

Leaning on the everlasting arms!

(Hymn: Leaning On The Everlasting Arms by Elisha A. Hoffman, 1887)

(Psalm 12:5) “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise,” says the Lord; “I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.”
