FACING LIFE WITH CONFIDENCE

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 8:38-39)

Brothers and sisters, there are so many things that we can fear in life. There is the alarming news reports constantly bombarding us and the daily events of life that many times loom over us. Sometimes you just feel like there’s this cloud around you of apprehension and gloom and it unsettles your heart. But is that how we are to live? Is that the Christian faith in action?

The Lord wants us to face life with confidence. Paul said he was persuaded that no matter what happens in life it would never separate us from God’s love in Christ. Take it from an expert. He suffered a lot in life but it made him stronger and more confident because each trial proved the faithfulness of God. The Lord never let him down so he learned to live life courageously (John 16:33).

Paul became like that strong tree that withstood the adverse environment by putting its roots down deeper for stability and growth. We too can be rooted and grounded in God’s love knowing that each trial will only serve to strengthen our faith (Eph 3:17). Then we will be a large sprawling tree that can provide refuge and shade to the weary.

Are you feeling weak and fearful lately? You can face life with confidence and be fully persuaded that nothing will ever beat you . . . only better you in Christ!
