DON’T GIVE UP!

(Gal 6:9) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Are you getting tired of it all? Life is way too much work and not enough fun? Feel like leaving it all and starting over? Then I encourage you to not give up. Instead . . . give it up! You’ve come too far to throw it all away. Give it up to God and watch what He will do.

Now if you are still determined to give up after reading the above then let me reason with you. Give up without giving up. In other words, you’ve been striving, trying to make it all happen, and you’re frustrated and want to quit. Well, what you need to do is give up your attempts to fix everything. You’re upset because you’ve been endeavoring in your own energies to change what doesn’t want to be changed. God is showing you that your fleshly attempts are futile. That’s why you suffer with irritability. That’s why everything and everybody seems so annoying. So, on that end I encourage you to give up without giving up.

God doesn’t want you to sweat it. He instructed the priests to wear linen instead of wool in their Temple service. (Eze 44:18) "They shall have linen turbans on their heads and linen trousers on their bodies; they shall not clothe themselves with anything that causes sweat. God wanted them comfortable and not all sweaty when they served in the house of God. Are you serving God with inspiration or perspiration? Gladness or sadness? (Psa 100:2) Serve the LORD with gladness . . .

Are you still so determined to give up? You’ve already quit in your heart and now you’re getting ready to make your move in reality. STOP! Don’t do it!! I understand that you can’t take it anymore. You are emotionally and mentally depleted. Physically you haven’t felt good in awhile. You don’t feel close to the Lord anymore. You’ve stopped reading your Bible consistently. You’re watching more TV than usual. You’re eating more junk food. Your weight is being affected. You have no zest for anything. You feel numb and barely functional most of the time. No wonder you want to quit!

Why am I being so straightforward? Because in the midst of all this you need to know the Lord loves you. But you’ve been so strong in your fixation and determination for termination that you haven’t been open to examination. Bless you heart . . . you haven’t been listening because you’ve been so caught up in your pain. That’s understandable but you need to realize that your next step in giving up will prove to be even more painful for you. And you don’t need more pain in your life, do you? Wouldn’t you like to right now give it up to God instead of giving up?

“Then in Jesus name, Lord, I pray for this wounded soldier. Relieve the pressure. Heal the pain. Ease the frustration. Calm the anger. Bring back peace and assurance of heart. And please don’t let them give up!”
