WEAKNESS . . . YUK!

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Cor 12:10)

Do you ever feel weak? Have you been feeling weak all week? It’s no fun is it? You want to feel strong all the time for all you have to do in life. When weakness sets in you feel like you’re just dragging yourself around like a ball-and-chain. You were going strong and then you got sick or developed some physical problem or you just feel burnt out from your constant on-the-go lifestyle. You try to eat good and take vitamins but your energy level just isn’t what it used to be. Weakness . . . yuk! You want to feel good again.

Paul was weak. He developed a “thorn in the flesh”. It’s just what he didn’t need. God had called him to travel and preach the good news of Jesus throughout the nations. Everything was going great, but he got sick on his very first missionary journey. He told the Galatians, “You know that because of physical infirmity I preached the gospel to you at the first.” (Gal 4:13) He was so weak, but he knew God had called him and he kept on and God used him mightily.

Don’t wait to feel better for God to use you. He wants to use you now even in your weakness. This is how he shows His power, and this is the way He gets all the glory. When your might decreases, His power takes over. Lean on the Lord and you will discover how incredible it is what God can do through weakness. (Isa 40:28-31)
