THE THIEF

(John 10:10) "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

A lot of us remember the Los Angeles riots because of an un-agreeable court decision that touched a nerve and sparked a reaction. But what about when a hometown basketball team wins a title and people go out and smash cars and light fires? Well, to tell you the truth, it reminds me of the devil trying to steal our blessings away. You see, when God wins a victory in our life we rejoice with God’s people who have stood with us through the battle. But outside the enemy of our souls is mad and has to vent his hellish fury in protest. When Satan loses turf he gets ticked! So he tries to steal your blessing away.

Jesus said, "Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.” (Rev 3:11) Don’t get discouraged when the devil’s “wet blanket” seeks to douse your burning fire for the Lord. His plans are devious but his attempts are futile. Keep up your shield of faith whereby you can quench the fiery missiles of your foe (Eph 6:16). Keep yourself in the love of God and don’t worry about hell’s rioting because Jesus is the Champion and has won the victory, which no one can take away!
