THE HIGH SKY

(Psa 103:11) For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him.

One day when I was little boy I was gazing into the vastness of the blue sky. With my head cocked I asked my mother if the sky ever ended. She answered that she thought it never did. But in reality, we don’t really know where the sky ends and God’s true heaven begins. All we know is that the expanse of the heavens is mysteriously immense. David used this illustration to bring out the fact of the never-ending mercy of God. And how we need it because our failings are unending. I’m so glad what Jesus did for me on the cross covers all my sins, for I sin daily and need constant cleansing in His blood. No matter what I do or have done, it’s covered by His infinite mercy. I’m so glad there is a high sky.
