TEARS

Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. (Ps 126:5)

Have you been crying lately? Things not going so well? Can you relate to the psalmist who said, “I am weary with my groaning; All night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears.” (Psa 6:6) Then you need to know that Jesus accepts your tears. Look at these instances in the Bible:

. . . of a man crying over his needy son - (Mark 9:20-27) Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth. 21 So He asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" And he said, "From childhood. 22 "And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us." 23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, "Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!" 26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, "He is dead." 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

. . . of a woman wrought over her sinful condition - (Luke 7:37-38) And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, 38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.

What is you condition today? What is bringing you to tears? Is it tears for a loved one? Is it tears over your own desperate situation? Do you know Jesus loves you and cares about you and what you’re going through? Then please be encouraged from God’s Word about your tears:

· God catches every tear you shed - (Psa 56:8) You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?

· The time of your crying will cease in victory - (Psa 116:8) For You have delivered my soul from death, My eyes from tears, And my feet from falling.

· God will exchange your tears for His joy - (Psa 126:5) Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.

· One of these days you will be in heaven where all you sorrows and crying will be over - (Rev 21:4) "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

Hey, if the Lord didn’t want us to cry we would of been born without tear ducts. So have a good cry when you need to but cry in the reality of God’s incredible love in Christ, in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, and in the knowledge of future victory in Jesus!
