(Rom 11:33) Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
It’s amazing how things build up inside of us. Yesterday’s leftovers. Present day worries. Tomorrow’s uncertainties. What will the future be like? Will I be stuck in this rut forever? Does it ever feel like your internal revolution will never find a resolution? Then you need to know that God is going to do it . . . but not as you think!
Paul wanted to get to Rome. It had always been his goal. He had it all figured out how he would get there and the timeline. (Acts 19:21) When these things were accomplished, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, "After I have been there, I must also see Rome." Well, he did get to Rome but not the way he thought. You see, after he got to Jerusalem, he was arrested, spent two years in jail in Caesarea, appealed to Caesar, was put on a ship to Rome where he almost lost his life, finally reached Rome where as a prisoner he waited a few years for his case to come before the imperial courts (Acts 21-28). But Paul had a chance to witness to Caesar himself! You see, God is going to do it . . . but not as you think!
God has bigger plans than our puny projections. He is working out a design that we would not believe if told us (Hab 1:5). His ways are not our ways (Isa 55:8-9). His wisdom and knowledge are deep. His decisions and His methods are beyond our probing. Every question and quandary is going to be without our intervention. All the matters and issues penned up inside of us will be resolved without our ingenuity or resourcefulness. God is going to prove Himself mighty on our behalf and without an ounce of our sufficiency. God is going to do it . . . but not as you think!
Keep in mind the Lord loves you and has your best interest at stake. Yes, things are taking time but for a reason. Will you trust Him and let go? Can you let your mind rest now on His goodness and intention to do you good in the end? That concern, that desire, that dream? God is going to do it . . . but not as you think! It’s going to be awesome!! You just wait and see!!!
