Have you ever made a decision when you were emotional? How did it turn out? Not very good, eh? That’s what usually happens. We get under stress and we think we have to make a decision right away. We feel pressured from people or from situations to do something. We’ve had enough, and we seek to alleviate the strain by forcing a decision. We didn’t seek God and we failed to spend time in prayer to get the mind of the Lord. We decided and then later we were regretful. Sorry, God!
How important it is to wait until we are settled down to make an important decision. (Pro 3:5-7) Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
The decision you must make will be put on your heart by God. (Neh 7:5) Then my God put it into my heart to gather the nobles . . .
Rushed and anxious is not God’s method of operation. (Psa 46:10) Be still, and know that I am God . . .
Get godly counsel. (Pro 11:14) Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
Let God confirm through circumstances. (Rev 3:8) "I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it . . .
Now . . . doesn’t that feel better? That’s the way of the Lord for you. Isn’t it so much more enjoyable to let the Lord work it all out His way?
